Strikers 2008 Girls Team: National Premier League Finalists

unnamed (4)

On Monday, July 15th, the Strikers 2008 Girls team faced California Odyssey in the final match of the National Premier League (NPL) finals, held in Denver, Colorado. The team, coached by Greg Steffen, finished as Finalists, with a 2-1 loss in the final match.

Despite this, the Strikers 2008 girls entered the game undefeated at the National event, competing against top teams from across the country. Their journey came to an end after 5 intense games in scorching temperatures over 100 degrees. However, they finished the event with the highest goal difference in the competition, a testament to their skill and determination.

Strikers is a smaller club in comparison to some of the larger teams at the event. Yet, our 2008 girls team made two consecutive trips to Nationals, facing off against elite competitors and consistently achieving success.

Our club members range from ages 6 to 18 and represent 45 school districts across 10 counties. Many parents, friends, and supporters tuned in for the 5 days of live-streamed games, and we are incredibly grateful for their encouragement and support throughout the event.

This remarkable achievement is an inspiration for the younger boys and girls in our club. We hope that they will follow in the footsteps of the 2008 girls and strive to surpass their success in the future.

Congratulations to the players and Coach Greg Steffen on an outstanding performance. The team has earned a place among an elite group of athletes, proudly wearing their Nationals medal.
